Senses- An Interactive Textiles Exhibtion

Walcot Chapel, Walcot Street, Bath

I decided to work with the sense of touch within this work as i thought it linked nicely to textiles and different fibres and fabrics.
I began by eliminating colour from my work so the primary focus was on Touch and nothing else distracted from this.
I chose to work with the idea of pregnancy as this is an area i regard as touch, People both strangers and friends alike want to touch the pregnant belly as it is an almost magical experience.
I produced prints and knitted felt samples for the exhibition and made a preganant stomach out of clay which i then vacuum formed.

Identity Crisis

This piece was created when I documented the clothes I tried on everyday and then discarded for something else. I photographed all the clothes I chose not to wear and took patterns and inspirations from them to create this piece of work.
The piece was orginally drawn in ink, procian dyes and pen. I then over layed different drawings and printed it onto Somerset Satin paper.
